"Tender" by Maggie Dunlap arriving at &gallery October 3rd

&gallery is pleased to announce it’s next exhibition to open at the gallery. Tender, by Maggie Dunlap is the 19-year-old artists’ first solo exhibition to date.

Maggie Dunlap was born in Washington DC and raised in Miami, FL. She is currently attending The School of Visual Arts in New York, NY.

Dunlap’s work spans many mediums, focusing her work primarily on adolescence and girl culture. “Confining myself to one single medium is not relevant or necessary to my practice,” she explains “The mediums I choose for different projects are integral to their respective subjects and content matter.”

The exhibition will open on October 3rd and continue through November 13th. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, October 3rd from 6 – 10pm with a Q&A with the artist promptly at 6pm.

Additionally, the gallery will be hosting a Sunday Brunch at the space on October 18th to honor Maggie and talk candidly with her about her show via a virtual meeting platform. This not only allows for another opportunity for one-on-one discussion with the artist, but also provides a chance for anyone to participate in the event in person or virtually.

For Tender, Maggie will be displaying works on paper, photography and works of embroidery.

“We have been planning this show for quite some time,” says &gallery director, Annie Berkowitz. “Maggie is an exceptional talent and we hope to bring her work to the forefront in her first solo exhibition.”
