PARADISE by Willie Avendano, opening during #NightofLightMiami

Willie Avendano and &gallery jointly present the artist’s 3rd installation and second solo exhibit at the space in located in Miami’s Little Haiti. PARADISE brings together what it’s like to live, love – and lose – in the Magic City. 

The opening evening is in tandem with the Night of Light Miami, a cultural crawl through Little River and Little Haiti’s art spaces and more. For more information about participating venues visit:

The term Paradise is defined place a place of extreme beauty, delight, or happiness; what better place to align with the term than our gorgeous City of Miami? Inspiration from Miami’s cultural landscape is central to the theme for the installation; visuals commonly seen in everyday life in Miami are consistantly used. 

The gallery will transform into a tropical lounge where visitors can experience the three videos, each displayed on separate display stations. The artist has produced sounds to accompany each piece. 

A collectors brunch with be hosted at the gallery for an exclusive virtual reality display by the artist and private viewing of the show. Date to be announced. 

Willie Avendano is a Miami native. In addition to showing at &gallery, he has had his artwork shown at the Institute of Contemporary Art and Locust Projects . His interests include virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and genetic algorithms in design. He is a co-founder of 01, a Wynwood based prototyping lab and studio for new educational ideas and products in technology and gaming. He graduated from Columbia University in Operations Research and Computer Science.

PARADISE will be on view by appointment only for the duration of Summer.
